Delay of Game

My message light was flashing on the phone at my desk when I got back from a meeting. I listened to the message flooded with mixed emotions. “We’re canceling your radiation treatment today because one of the machines has broken and we needed to call a repair man. He believes he has all the parts needed to fix it so you can plan on coming at your regular time tomorrow.”

Woo-hoo! No radiation treatment today! Oh, wait. That means they’ll just add a day to the back end of the schedule. My last day was supposed to be Friday, August 20. That pushes it to Monday, August 23 because of the weekend. Damn!

Delay of Game penalty called! This just plain sucks…no other way to put it.

Day six is on hold – nine more treatments to go…still.
